Job Description
Are you a visionary Architect with a passion for transforming concepts into tangible structures and a knack for precision in planning and drawing? New Era Homes & Hardware Limited, a leading name in Jamaica’s construction and home improvement sector, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architect – Planning & Design Specialist to join our dynamic team in Rivoli, Spanish Town. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who excels in both the artistic and technical aspects of architecture, from initial conceptualization to the final detailed construction drawings.
At New Era, we don’t just supply building materials; we inspire and facilitate the creation of dream homes and functional commercial spaces across Jamaica. As our Architect, you will play a crucial role in our mission, working on diverse projects ranging from bespoke residential developments to large-scale commercial renovations and community infrastructure enhancements. You will be instrumental in the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that designs are not only aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound, and cost-effective but also rigorously compliant with all local building codes, environmental regulations, and accessibility standards.
We are looking for someone who can expertly navigate complex design challenges, translate client visions and functional requirements into actionable architectural plans, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, MEP specialists, contractors, and project managers. Your expertise in detailed planning and technical drawing will be paramount in producing high-quality architectural documentation, including comprehensive blueprints, precise elevations, section drawings, detailed schedules, and compelling 3D renderings and walkthroughs. This documentation will serve as the guiding force for our construction efforts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from groundbreaking to completion.
Beyond the drawing board, you will be expected to conduct thorough site analyses, feasibility studies, and engage in direct client consultations to understand their needs and present design solutions. Your role will involve preparing comprehensive project proposals that clearly articulate design intent, project scope, timelines, and preliminary budget estimates. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of various construction methodologies, materials, and their application, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to adapt to evolving project requirements. If you are committed to excellence, possess a strong portfolio demonstrating your capabilities in architectural planning and drawing, and are eager to contribute to a company that values innovation, quality, and community impact, then New Era Homes & Hardware Limited is the place for you to build your career and make a lasting impact on Jamaica’s built environment. Join us and help shape the future of architecture in the region.
