As an Architect with a specialization in design and drawing, you will be a critical contributor to our diverse portfolio of projects. Your responsibilities will encompass developing innovative design solutions, translating client briefs into compelling architectural concepts, and meticulously preparing comprehensive construction documents. You will work closely with senior architects, project managers, and interdisciplinary teams, playing a crucial role in ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and sustainable design practices, coupled with exceptional proficiency in leading industry software. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design development from conceptualization to final documentation.
  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using CAD and BIM software.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, present design proposals, and incorporate feedback.
  • Ensure designs adhere to all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Jamaica.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with contractors and engineers during construction administration phases.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and provide expert guidance on architectural solutions.
  • Research and integrate sustainable design practices and innovative materials into projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong design and drawing portfolio.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jamaican building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
  • Strong understanding of architectural theory, design principles, and material science.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Architect in Jamaica (or eligible for registration).
  • Experience with sustainable design certifications (e.g., LEED AP).
  • Project management experience in an architectural firm.
  • Proficiency in additional rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape).
  • Experience across diverse project types (commercial, residential, institutional).
