Polydor Records is seeking a highly motivated and passionate A&R Intern to join our dynamic team in London. Key Responsibilities
- Actively research and identify new and emerging artists, bands, and producers across various genres and platforms (streaming, social media, live gigs).
- Assist A&R managers with administrative tasks, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Attend live showcases, gigs, and industry events to scout talent and network.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and trend forecasting to inform A&R strategy.
- Organize and maintain the A&R department's database of contacts and artist submissions.
- Provide creative input and feedback on demos and ongoing artist projects.
- Support the preparation of A&R reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with other departments (marketing, promotions, legal) as needed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable passion for music and a wide knowledge of current musical trends and artists.
- Excellent listening skills and an innate 'ear' for identifying talent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of networking effectively.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in digital platforms and social media analytics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Music, Music Business, Media, or a related field.
- Previous experience (even informal) in the music industry (e.g., student radio, band management, blogging, live event promotion).
- Familiarity with music production software and demo recording processes.
- An established network within the local music scene.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong initiative to learn and contribute.
