Key Responsibilities
- Manage and log all incoming demo submissions, providing initial screening and feedback where appropriate.
- Assist A&R managers with comprehensive talent scouting, including research on emerging country artists, songwriters, and producers.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, travel arrangements, and studio sessions for the A&R team and artists.
- Maintain and update artist databases, project trackers, and confidential A&R reports.
- Liaise effectively with artists, managers, producers, and internal departments (e.g., marketing, publicity, legal).
- Conduct in-depth market research on country music trends, chart performance, new releases, and competitive analysis.
- Support the preparation of presentations, summaries, and reports for potential signings and artist development reviews.
- Attend live showcases, industry events, and concerts to identify new talent and network within the country music community.
- Assist in the administrative aspects of recording projects, including paperwork and budget tracking.
- Provide general administrative support to the A&R department as needed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable passion and in-depth knowledge of country music, including emerging artists and industry trends.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with database management.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and creative environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with artists and industry professionals.
- Reliable and discreet handling of confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous internship or entry-level experience within the music industry (e.g., record label, management company, publishing house).
- Familiarity with music industry software, analytics platforms, and digital streaming services.
- Experience attending and reporting on live music events.
