Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently drive an Amazon-branded delivery vehicle to deliver packages to customers on assigned routes.
- Navigate a variety of routes throughout the Lenexa area using a company-provided handheld device.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies while driving and making deliveries.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, often requiring lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Manage daily delivery schedules and complete routes in a timely manner.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve delivery issues as they arise, communicating effectively with dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Attend regular training sessions and team meetings as required.
Required Skills
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Valid driver's license (standard Class C or equivalent) for at least 3 years.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 70 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to get in and out of a van multiple times a day and walk up and down stairs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery driver role (e.g., package delivery, food delivery, courier).
- Familiarity with the Lenexa, KS area geography.
- Experience using GPS and routing software.
