These deployments will be primarily to Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston or Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, depending on operational needs and your training specialization. As an Airport Staff member focused on Check-in and Baggage, you will stand at the forefront of our passenger services, playing an indispensable role in the pre-flight journey. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide spectrum of tasks meticulously designed to facilitate efficient passenger flow, ensure accurate documentation, and manage secure baggage handling. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist passengers with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive start to their travel experience.
- Verify passenger identities, travel documents, and ensure compliance with visa and entry requirements for various destinations.
- Process passenger check-ins efficiently using airline reservation systems, issuing boarding passes and collecting necessary fees.
- Tag and route baggage accurately, ensuring adherence to weight and size restrictions, and handling special baggage (e.g., oversized, fragile) appropriately.
- Address passenger inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely and accurate flight information, including delays or cancellations.
- Assist passengers with flight rebookings, changes, or cancellations as needed, utilizing established procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all security protocols, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, flight crew, customs, immigration, and other airport agencies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at the check-in counters and baggage handling zones.
- Operate baggage handling equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions for excess baggage or special services with accuracy and integrity.
- Provide clear and concise announcements to passengers regarding boarding, delays, or other pertinent information.
- Escalate complex passenger issues or operational challenges to supervisors as necessary for timely resolution.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced or public-facing environment.

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly, and perform repetitive tasks.

- Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and a commitment to punctuality.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and irregular hours as required by airline operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the airline, travel, or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, Jamaican Patois).
- Familiarity with airline Passenger Service Systems (PSS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or SITA.
- Experience with baggage reconciliation systems and procedures.
- Certification in airport ground operations or customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of IATA regulations and airport security procedures.
