Job Description
We are actively seeking highly skilled and dedicated Aircraft Mechanics to join our world-class maintenance team at UPS Worldport in Louisville, Kentucky. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations on UPS aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, avionics, and hydraulic system malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Complete comprehensive documentation of all maintenance actions, parts usage, and system status accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations during all maintenance operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and operational readiness.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with evolving aircraft technologies and maintenance practices.
- Operate ground support equipment (GSE) and specialized tools safely and proficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections as required.
Required Skills
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable aircraft maintenance experience, preferably on heavy transport aircraft.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex aircraft systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations (e.g., FAR Part 43, 65, 91, 121, 145).
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High degree of attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on Boeing 747, 757, 767, MD-11, or Airbus A300 aircraft types.
- Experience with avionics systems and components.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with computer-based maintenance tracking systems.
- Previous experience in a high-volume cargo or airline MRO environment.
