Job Description

This role is crucial in facilitating seamless travel for our customers, from initial booking inquiries to reissues and refunds. Key Responsibilities

  • Process ticket sales, reissues, exchanges, and refunds accurately and efficiently using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and proprietary airline software.
  • Provide comprehensive information to passengers regarding flight schedules, fares, baggage policies, travel documents, and other airline services.
  • Assist passengers with booking modifications, seat assignments, special requests, and resolve complex travel itineraries.
  • Handle passenger inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy, striving for first-contact resolution.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with Air Canada's policies, procedures, and relevant aviation regulations (e.g., IATA standards).
  • Process various forms of payment and ensure financial reconciliation of daily transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Air Canada products, services, promotions, and changes in flight operations.
  • Collaborate with other airport and airline personnel to ensure a seamless passenger journey.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within the travel, airline, or hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a clear, professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and transaction processing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite) and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with a Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
  • Familiarity with IATA ticketing and baggage regulations.
  • Knowledge of Air Canada's routes, products, and services.
  • Fluency in additional languages, particularly French.
  • Post-secondary education in travel, tourism, or a related field.
