Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our Air Canada team in Philadelphia, PA. As an Operations Coordinator, you will be instrumental in managing the logistical complexities of airline ground operations, working closely with various departments including flight crews, ground handlers, maintenance, and air traffic control. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor flight movements, gate assignments, and aircraft turnarounds in real-time.
- Coordinate with ground handling agents, catering, fuel services, and baggage handling to ensure timely and efficient aircraft servicing.
- Liaise with flight crews, maintenance teams, and air traffic control regarding operational updates and potential issues.
- Manage and resolve operational disruptions, including delays, diversions, and cancellations, communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Air Canada operational procedures, safety regulations, and local airport authority guidelines.
- Prepare and disseminate flight-related documentation and reports, including manifests and operational logs.
- Facilitate passenger boarding and deplaning processes, assisting with special requests and resolving immediate issues.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and contribute to incident management as required.
- Utilize various airline operational software and communication systems efficiently.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in airline operations, airport ground handling, or a related logistics field.
- Strong understanding of airline operational procedures and regulatory requirements (FAA, ICAO).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with specialized airline software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with AIMS, SABRE, or similar airline operational systems.
- Prior experience working in an international airport environment.
- Knowledge of cargo operations and dangerous goods regulations.
