Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of crop production activities, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess crop health, identify potential issues (pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies), and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Support the collection and analysis of soil samples, plant tissue, and water to guide best management practices.
- Learn and apply sustainable agricultural techniques, including integrated pest management (IPM) and water-efficient irrigation systems.
- Collaborate with local farmers and communities, providing technical advice and training on improved farming methods.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, crop yields, and other relevant data.
- Participate in research and development initiatives aimed at improving crop varieties and production efficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards in all agricultural operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of agricultural extension programs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Crop Science, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical understanding of agricultural principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication in Mozambique.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
