Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design and analysis of aircraft structures, systems, and components using advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Conduct stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and structural integrity assessments to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.
  • Develop and validate computational models (e.g., Finite Element Analysis – FEA) to predict component behavior under various operational conditions.
  • Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, from conceptual design and prototyping to manufacturing support and in-service modifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including design, manufacturing, test, and project management, to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support ground and flight testing activities, analyzing data and providing engineering insights for performance optimization.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, driving continuous improvement in design and processes.
  • Ensure all work adheres to strict safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace design, analysis, or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, structures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in British Columbia or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience with advanced composite materials and structures.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, EASA).
  • Prior experience with aircraft certification processes.
  • Experience in systems engineering or avionics integration.
  • Project management experience within an engineering context.
