Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic Remote Department, supporting our clients from the comfort of your home base within Brighton and Hove. As an integral part of our finance team, you will be responsible for a variety of critical accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial records. Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as required.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both physical and electronic.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding accounting inquiries.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar financial role (minimum 18 months).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification, or equivalent.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards and regulations.
- Previous experience working in a remote capacity.
