Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for a diverse client base.
- Manage client ledgers, reconcile accounts, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports, providing insights and analysis to support client decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (FRS 102, IFRS, etc.) and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Process invoices, expenses, and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries, provide financial advice, and build strong professional relationships.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and tax laws to advise clients effectively.
Required Skills
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting practice or a relevant industry role.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Previous experience working with a diverse client portfolio across various industries.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and preparation (e.g., Corporation Tax, VAT).
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
