In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting our clients’ financial health by performing a wide range of accounting functions. You will collaborate closely with senior accountants and clients to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial management. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage general ledger accounts, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support audit engagements by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Stay current with accounting pronouncements, regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. or eligibility for employer-sponsored visa (e.g., H-1B, E-3, TN).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Progress towards CPA certification.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx Tax, or other professional tax software.
  • Experience working in a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with various industry sectors, particularly tribal government, non-profit, or commercial business accounting.
