Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain laboratory documentation, including equipment logs, training records, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate and track laboratory supply orders, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely delivery.
  • Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding process for lab personnel, including access control and workstation setup.
  • Organise and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for lab staff as required.
  • Maintain laboratory databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external enquiries related to lab operations.
  • Support the management of lab equipment calibration and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other administrative tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and general lab housekeeping standards.
  • Process invoices and expenses, liaising with the finance department as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a scientific or technical environment (1+ year).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in a science-related field or business administration.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar database software.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or ISO 17025 standards.
