Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grounds Maintenance Worker with a passion for landscaping to join our growing team in Didsbury, Manchester. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general grounds maintenance duties including mowing, strimming, edging, weeding, and litter picking across various client sites.
  • Undertake seasonal tasks such as pruning shrubs and trees, planting new flora, mulching, and leaf clearance.
  • Operate and maintain a range of hand tools and powered equipment including mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws (with appropriate certification).
  • Monitor the health of plants and turf, identifying and reporting any signs of disease, pests, or damage.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering strictly to company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work vehicle, tools, and equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients and members of the public while representing Acacia Landscapes Limited.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of practical experience in grounds maintenance or a related landscaping role.
  • Proficient in operating a variety of landscaping hand tools and basic powered equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of plant care, common weeds, and turf maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong physical fitness, capable of performing manual labour and lifting.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential for travelling between sites).

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
  • PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
  • CS30/31 (chainsaw competency) or other relevant machinery operation certifications.
  • Experience with irrigation systems maintenance.
