Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate Air Peace aircraft in accordance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable aviation regulations (NCAA, ICAO).
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, flight planning, and briefing with the cabin crew and dispatch for each flight.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with air traffic control, ground operations, and the flight crew throughout all phases of flight.
- Monitor aircraft systems, fuel consumption, weather conditions, and navigation data, making informed decisions to ensure flight safety and efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate actively in Crew Resource Management (CRM) for optimal crew coordination.
- Complete accurate flight logs, incident reports, and other required documentation post-flight.
- Stay current with all aviation regulations, aircraft operating manuals, and company policy updates through continuous training and self-study.
- Represent Air Peace with the highest level of professionalism and integrity at all times, both on and off duty.
Required Skills
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with frozen ATPL, issued or validated by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
- Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 2000 total flight hours for First Officer, with at least 500 hours on multi-engine commercial aircraft; higher hours required for Captain roles.
- Type rating on relevant aircraft operated by Air Peace (e.g., Boeing 737, Embraer 195-E2) or willingness to undergo type rating training.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment.
- Unblemished safety record and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on jet aircraft.
- Instructor or Examiner rating.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in additional languages.
