Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and cleaning windows.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and kitchens, and replenish supplies as needed.
- Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas, ensuring proper waste segregation.
- Clean and disinfect common areas, offices, conference rooms, and high-traffic zones.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment safely and effectively, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices for commercial cleaning.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or potential hazards observed during cleaning shifts to a supervisor promptly.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and to a consistently high standard.
- Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, reporting stock levels and needs to supervisors in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning, demonstrating a clear understanding of cleaning protocols.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional thoroughness in completing all assigned tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic with a commitment to consistent performance.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to comprehensive safety guidelines and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their safe handling, storage, and appropriate application.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent level of education.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (an asset for covering varied client sites).
- Prior experience with specialized floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
- Familiarity with WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) regulations and safety data sheets.
