Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in various settings.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
  • Prepare work areas by setting up equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and cleaning up debris.
  • Learn to identify and use various plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Follow instructions from journeymen plumbers, asking clarifying questions as needed.
  • Perform general labour tasks such as digging, trenching, carrying pipes, and clearing obstructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship program requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow directions and learn quickly.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments (indoors/outdoors, confined spaces).
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related trade (even volunteer work) is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
