As a Ticketing Officer, you will be the face of Arik Air, playing a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience from the moment our customers interact with us. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting passengers with their travel needs, including booking flights, issuing tickets, processing payments, and managing changes or cancellations. You will handle inquiries with professionalism, provide accurate information regarding flight schedules, fares, and company policies, and resolve any travel-related issues promptly and courteously. This role demands a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process flight bookings, issue tickets, and manage reservations accurately using airline ticketing systems.
- Handle passenger inquiries regarding flight schedules, fares, baggage allowances, visa requirements, and other travel-related information.
- Process payments for tickets, excess baggage, and other services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial procedures.
- Manage flight changes, cancellations, rebooking, and refunds in accordance with company policies and airline regulations.
- Verify passenger travel documents, including passports, visas, and health certificates, to ensure compliance with international and domestic requirements.
- Provide clear, concise, and friendly assistance to passengers, addressing their concerns and resolving issues effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Arik Air's services, routes, promotions, and relevant industry regulations.
- Collaborate with airport operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless passenger flow and service delivery.
- Generate daily sales reports and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
- Actively promote Arik Air's additional services and products to enhance customer experience and revenue.
- Adhere strictly to all security, safety, and operational procedures and guidelines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a customer service or ticketing role, preferably within the travel or hospitality industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a patient and empathetic approach to customer interactions.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by airline operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Fluency in additional local languages relevant to the Uyo region (e.g., Ibibio, Efik).
- Previous experience working for an airline or in an airport environment.
