Job Description
The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK) is seeking an experienced and highly organized School Administrator with a strong focus on Academic Coordination to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for supporting the academic leadership in the efficient operation of the school’s educational programs, ensuring seamless coordination between departments, faculty, students, and parents. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in managing academic schedules, tracking student progress, facilitating curriculum implementation, and supporting faculty development initiatives. You will act as a central point of contact for academic inquiries, manage records with meticulous attention to detail, and contribute to an environment that upholds TASOK’s high standards of educational excellence. You will work closely with the academic deans, department heads, and teachers to streamline processes, manage academic data, and ensure that all academic operations run smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of academic calendars, timetables, and daily schedules for all grade levels.
- Manage student academic records, including enrollment, grades, attendance, and transcripts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support the academic leadership team in curriculum development and review processes, including documentation and resource management.
- Coordinate standardized testing, internal assessments, and reporting cycles, ensuring timely completion and dissemination of results.
- Facilitate communication between academic departments, faculty, students, and parents regarding academic policies, procedures, and student progress.
- Organize and manage faculty professional development programs and workshops related to academic best practices.
- Provide administrative support for academic meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assist with the onboarding of new academic staff, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and information.
- Manage and update the school's learning management system (LMS) with academic content, assignments, and announcements.
- Support the preparation of academic reports for internal use and for external accreditation bodies.
- Handle inquiries from students and parents regarding academic matters, providing accurate information and directing them to appropriate resources.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an administrative role within an educational setting.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in school management software and learning management systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Schrole, PowerSchool, Moodle, Google Classroom).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in record-keeping.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
