Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Videographer with strong cinematography and video editing expertise to join our dynamic production team at Dakkada TV. This pivotal role requires an individual who is not only proficient in operating professional video equipment but also possesses a keen eye for visual storytelling and a strong understanding of post-production workflows. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, shooting, and editing compelling video content across various formats, including news features, documentaries, promotional materials, and live event coverage. From pre-production planning and script breakdown to final delivery, your work will be instrumental in bringing our stories to life and maintaining the high broadcast standards of Dakkada TV. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, comfortable working independently or as part of a crew, and possess a robust portfolio showcasing their technical prowess and creative vision. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, shoot, and light high-quality video content for various broadcast and digital platforms, adhering to Dakkada TV’s brand guidelines and editorial standards.
- Operate professional cameras, lighting equipment, audio recording devices, and other related gear proficiently.
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other team members to understand project requirements and translate creative briefs into visually stunning productions.
- Perform comprehensive video editing, including footage assembly, color correction, sound design, motion graphics integration, and final mastering using industry-standard software.
- Ensure all video content is technically sound, aesthetically pleasing, and meets broadcast quality specifications.
- Manage and organize media assets, maintaining a systematic archiving system for raw footage and completed projects.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in videography, cinematography, and video editing.
- Maintain all assigned equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting minor issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide creative input and suggestions during planning and production phases to enhance the overall quality and impact of content.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Videographer and Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse video projects.
- Expert proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Exceptional cinematography skills, including composition, lighting techniques, camera operation, and shot sequencing.
- Solid understanding of audio recording, mixing, and sound design principles.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong storytelling abilities with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with various video formats, codecs, and delivery specifications for broadcast and digital platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Film Production, Mass Communication, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with motion graphics and visual effects (VFX).
- Certification or proven experience in drone operation for aerial videography.
- Previous experience working in a broadcast media environment or news production.
- Ability to operate and maintain studio equipment.
- Fluency in local Akwa Ibom languages (e.g., Ibibio, Annang) is a plus.
