Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Waitstaff to join our esteemed team at The Ivy Chelsea Garden. As a vital part of our front-of-house operations, you will be instrumental in delivering the high standards of service our guests expect and deserve. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests upon arrival, presenting menus and explaining daily specials.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, offering recommendations and answering questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and elegantly, adhering to all service standards and timing protocols.
- Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and maintained throughout the dining experience.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipating needs and promptly responding to requests or concerns.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and card transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including clearing tables and resetting for new guests.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including restocking and preparation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a high-end restaurant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional demeanour and appearance.
- Good understanding of food and beverage service standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a fine dining or busy brasserie environment.
- Knowledge of wine and spirits, including basic pairing recommendations.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
- A recognised qualification in hospitality or food service.
