Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager specializing in Systems and Network administration to join our dynamic team in Kingston. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who can oversee the entire IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of our systems and network operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise systems and network architecture, supporting both internal operations and critical services delivered to our customers. You will lead a dedicated team of IT professionals, foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all corporate IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, operating systems, and core applications.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices for system administration, network security, and data protection.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Manage IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and new technology deployments, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Monitor system performance, network traffic, and security logs, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical IT systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, with a strong focus on systems and network administration.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), routing, switching, and firewall management.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Project management experience in an IT context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL.
- Experience with enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Familiarity with telecommunications industry IT infrastructure.
- Experience managing IT budgets and procurement processes.
