Job Description

Are you meticulously organised, detail-oriented, and possess a keen eye for accuracy? Henderson Group is seeking a dedicated and proactive Inventory Control Clerk to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment located on Ormeau Road, Belfast. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our inventory, ensuring that stock levels are always precise and available to meet operational demands across our diverse retail and wholesale operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the company’s inventory management system (IMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages or overages, escalating issues as needed.
  • Generate and analyse inventory reports, providing insights to management on stock performance.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and production departments to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure all inventory movements and transactions are accurately recorded and adhere to company policies.
  • Participate in warehouse organisation and layout optimisation to improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role (minimum 1 year).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations and reconciliations.
  • Physical ability to lift and move packages, and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certification in inventory management or logistics.
  • Experience with specific ERP systems or advanced inventory software.
  • Forklift operator certification (reach truck or counterbalance).
  • Previous experience in a retail or foodservice distribution environment.
  • A-levels or equivalent qualification.
