Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team, supporting Honeywell’s operations and projects in the Uyo region, particularly those that may interface with critical infrastructure like the Ibom Specialist Hospital. As a Procurement Officer, you will be instrumental in managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring that all goods, services, and works are acquired efficiently, economically, and in compliance with company policies and ethical standards. Your primary objective will be to secure the best value for money, optimize supplier relationships, and contribute to cost savings and operational efficiency across various projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end procurement processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, and contract management, adhering to Honeywell's global procurement policies and local regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting due diligence and risk assessments to ensure reliability and compliance with quality standards.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings and value for money without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues or disputes effectively to maintain a robust and responsive supply chain.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities, evaluate market trends, and implement strategic procurement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, finance, legal, and operational teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports, utilizing procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with ethical standards, corporate governance, and local procurement laws.
  • Develop and implement strategies for inventory optimization and reduction of lead times.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing.
  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, particularly SAP or Oracle, for procurement functions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain logistics and inventory control.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CIPS, CSCP).
  • Experience working within a multinational company or an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of local supplier networks and market dynamics in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
  • Familiarity with procurement for healthcare or critical infrastructure projects.
