Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic team at Kolwezi Dream Hotel. As a Bartender, you will be the heart of our beverage and lounge service, responsible for crafting an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, flair, and an unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, meticulously following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, taking orders accurately, making insightful recommendations, and ensuring their complete satisfaction through personalized service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area at all times, including glassware, bar tools, fresh garnishes, and comprehensive beverage inventory.
- Monitor and manage liquor, beer, and wine inventory levels, reporting shortages or excesses to management promptly and assisting with efficient ordering and stock rotation.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly, operating the POS system, processing payments, and providing correct change as required.
- Adhere strictly to all local and national regulations regarding alcohol service, including diligent age verification (DRC drinking age) and responsible serving practices to prevent over-intoxication.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure seamless service delivery and a cohesive guest experience.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current beverage trends, new products, special promotions, and signature drinks unique to Kolwezi Dream Hotel.
- Assist with the efficient setting up and breaking down of the bar for daily service or special events, ensuring all equipment is in perfect working order.
- Proactively address guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and efficiency, escalating to management when complex issues arise to ensure swift resolution.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bartender of at least 1 year, preferably in a hotel, upscale restaurant, or high-volume lounge setting.
- Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary drink recipes, mixing techniques, and sophisticated beverage presentation.
- Strong customer service orientation and exceptional interpersonal communication skills with diverse clientele.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining composure and meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash and operating Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations specific to food and beverage service.
- Fluency in English and/or French; a working knowledge of Swahili or other local languages prevalent in Kolwezi is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending school, culinary institute, or accredited hospitality program.
- Demonstrated experience with inventory management systems and efficient ordering processes.
