Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, speed, and flair.
- Interact warmly with guests, taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a pleasant and engaging experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, ingredients, spirits, and equipment, adhering to all hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of spirits, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies, and place orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions using our Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring all sales are recorded correctly.
- Adhere strictly to all local and national liquor laws, responsible alcohol service guidelines (e.g., age verification), and company policies.
- Check customer identification meticulously to ensure they meet the legal drinking age.
- Actively contribute to the development of new cocktail recipes and seasonal drink menus, bringing creativity to our offerings.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members (servers, kitchen, management) to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive team effort.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any service-related issues or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Perform opening and closing duties comprehensively, including stocking, thorough cleaning, and securing the bar area.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Bartender in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer varieties.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with an engaging personality.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain composure.
- Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems for order entry and transaction processing.
- Excellent memory for drink recipes, customer preferences, and menu details.
- A keen eye for cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail in all aspects of bar operations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry items up to 25kg comfortably.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending school or equivalent professional training.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering systems specific to bar operations.
- In-depth knowledge of local craft beverages and emerging industry trends.
- Proven ability to upsell and suggestively sell products, enhancing guest experience and revenue.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Ibibio) is a plus.
