Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and dismantle market stall daily, ensuring an attractive and organized display of products.
  • Actively engage with customers, providing excellent service, product information, and recommendations.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems (or manual methods) and handle cash/card payments.
  • Manage inventory at the stall, including receiving stock, monitoring levels, and requesting replenishments.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic sales area at all times, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Achieve daily and weekly sales targets, consistently striving to exceed expectations.
  • Collect customer feedback and relay valuable insights to management to improve product offerings and sales strategies.
  • Educate customers about the features, benefits, and uses of various Jamaican Teas products.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally, escalating complex matters to supervisors.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and reconcile cash/payments at the end of each shift.
  • Represent Jamaican Teas Limited with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in sales or customer service, preferably in a retail or market setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Strong numerical aptitude for handling cash transactions and basic inventory management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items, and manage stall setup.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer engagement techniques.
  • High level of integrity and honesty in handling money and company assets.
  • Flexibility to work market hours, which may include weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a market vendor or in direct-to-consumer sales.
  • Familiarity with Jamaican Teas Limited's product range and brand values.
  • Knowledge of local markets and customer preferences in the Red Hills area.
  • Ability to speak Patois is an asset, enhancing communication with local customers.
