Job Description
GIG Logistics is actively seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and experienced Dispatch Rider to become a valuable member of our expanding team in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. This crucial role serves as the backbone of our daily delivery operations, playing a pivotal part in ensuring that a diverse array of parcels, vital documents, and various packages reach their intended destinations safely, securely, and punctually. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver a wide range of packages, documents, and other items to designated locations within Uyo and its surrounding areas, strictly adhering to company standards.
- Strategically plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure the most timely and efficient completion of deliveries, always meeting scheduled deadlines.
- Accurately verify the contents of packages against corresponding delivery notes, ensuring absolute precision before dispatch and upon successful delivery to the recipient.
- Collect payments for cash-on-delivery (COD) orders with meticulous accuracy and reconcile all daily transactions comprehensively.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records of all deliveries, pickups, and detailed vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, operations staff, and other team members regarding delivery status, potential delays, or any unforeseen issues.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws and safety regulations, consistently prioritizing personal safety and the safety of all others on the road.
- Ensure the assigned motorcycle is meticulously well-maintained, kept clean, and consistently in excellent working condition, promptly reporting any faults or urgent maintenance needs.
- Represent GIG Logistics professionally, courteously, and with the highest level of integrity to all clients, partners, and the general public.
Required Skills
- Valid Rider's Permit / Motorcycle License.
- Minimum of 6 months proven experience as a dispatch rider or in a similar delivery-focused role.
- Excellent knowledge and familiarity with Uyo's road networks, major landmarks, and surrounding environs.
- Strong navigation and efficient route planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a motorcycle safely, responsibly, and with due care.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of professional interaction.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and unwavering reliability.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills, essential for accurate record-keeping and precise transaction handling.
