Job Description
We are seeking a highly vigilant, reliable, and dedicated Security Guard to join our team in the bustling Itam Junction area of Uyo. This critical role encompasses responsibilities as a Gatekeeper and Night Watch, ensuring the continuous safety and protection of our premises, property, staff, and customers. As a vital member of our security apparatus, you will be the first line of defense, responsible for maintaining a secure environment around the clock. Your primary duties will involve monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, overseeing surveillance equipment, and responding promptly to any security breaches or emergencies. This position requires exceptional observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to act decisively under pressure. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to upholding security protocols. You will play an instrumental role in preventing unauthorized access, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the orderly flow of authorized personnel and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the premises for employees, visitors, and vehicles, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to security procedures.
- Operate and monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment to detect and prevent unauthorized entry or suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular patrols of the entire premises, including exterior grounds and interior spaces, during both day and night shifts, to identify and address potential security risks.
- Serve as the primary Gatekeeper, managing vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow at entry and exit points, maintaining accurate logs where required.
- Perform dedicated Night Watch duties, ensuring the security of the facility during off-hours, checking for unsecured doors, windows, and any irregularities.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, including fire, theft, medical emergencies, and disturbances.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on security incidents, daily activities, observations, and any unusual occurrences.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, educating staff and visitors on safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff and visitors while maintaining a professional and authoritative demeanor.
