Job Description

Are you passionate about travel, hospitality, and creating extraordinary experiences for guests from around the globe? Chukka Caribbean Adventures is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Cruise Staff to join our vibrant team in Green Island, Lucea. In this exciting full-time role, you will be the dynamic face of Jamaican hospitality, engaging directly with international cruise ship passengers during their port calls. Your primary mission will be to ensure every guest enjoys a seamless, enriching, and memorable visit to our beautiful island. This involves everything from warmly welcoming guests as they disembark at the port, providing detailed and engaging information about available Chukka tours and local attractions, to assisting with logistics, addressing inquiries, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their excursions. You’ll be a crucial link between our ground operations and our international guests, playing a vital role in showcasing Jamaica’s unique charm and our unwavering commitment to unparalleled service. This position offers a unique blend of high-volume customer interaction, proactive problem-solving, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced tourism environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and assist cruise ship passengers upon arrival and departure at the port, providing a memorable first and last impression.
  • Provide comprehensive, engaging, and accurate information about Chukka tours, local attractions, and general inquiries.
  • Facilitate smooth guest registration, check-in processes for excursions, and provide general logistical support for daily operations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for guest needs, concerns, and feedback, resolving issues promptly, professionally, and with empathy.
  • Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout their time with Chukka, diligently adhering to all company and international safety protocols.
  • Proactively promote and upsell various tours and services, enhancing the guest experience and contributing to revenue goals.
  • Maintain a pristine, organized, and welcoming environment at designated guest interaction points and tour departure areas.
  • Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with tour guides, drivers, operations coordinators, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions for tour bookings and merchandise, following all financial procedures (if applicable).
  • Represent Chukka Caribbean Adventures with professionalism, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service, hospitality, or tourism-related role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • A friendly, outgoing, and genuinely customer-centric personality with a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic outdoor environment, often under varying weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm capacity to handle unexpected situations gracefully.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse and multicultural team.
  • Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks and familiarity with booking systems.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by cruise schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working directly with international tourists or cruise ship passengers.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German) is a significant asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of local Jamaican history, culture, geography, and attractions.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • A valid Jamaican Driver's License (asset, depending on specific duties).
