Job Description
Elbit Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team in Haifa. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle development of complex electronic systems, from conceptual design and architecture definition through to detailed implementation, testing, and integration for various advanced defense and commercial applications. This is an immediate start opportunity for an individual passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology in areas such as avionics, communication systems, signal processing, and advanced sensor platforms. You will be responsible for designing and analyzing analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability under stringent environmental and operational conditions. Your expertise will be critical in component selection, schematic capture, guiding PCB layout, and bringing up prototypes from initial power-on to full functional verification. You will engage in rigorous debugging, verification, and validation activities, meticulously documenting your work to ensure designs meet stringent performance and qualification specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits for various applications.
- Perform system-level architecture design and component selection based on project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct schematic capture and provide guidance for PCB layout, ensuring adherence to design rules and best practices.
- Bring up and debug prototypes, troubleshoot hardware issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Develop and execute test plans for verification and validation of electronic designs, including functional, performance, and environmental testing.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, software, systems engineers) to ensure seamless integration and project success.
- Adhere to relevant industry standards, quality procedures, and project timelines.
- Stay updated with new technologies and methodologies in electronics engineering.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics hardware design and development.
- Proficiency in circuit design (analog, digital, mixed-signal) and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with EDA tools for schematic capture and simulation (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, SPICE).
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
- Knowledge of common communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, CAN).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries.
- Experience with RF design, FPGA design, or DSP implementation.
- Knowledge of DfM (Design for Manufacturability) and DfT (Design for Testability) principles.
- Familiarity with system integration and qualification processes.
- Proficiency in Hebrew.
