Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth economic research and analysis on local, national, and global economic trends affecting ATB Financial and its clients.
- Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain econometric models for forecasting key economic indicators relevant to the financial services industry.
- Prepare comprehensive economic reports, presentations, and commentaries for internal stakeholders, including senior leadership and business units.
- Monitor and analyze government policies, regulatory changes, and geopolitical events for their potential economic impact.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Treasury, Risk Management, Strategy) to provide economic insights that support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Present research findings and economic outlooks to diverse audiences, clearly articulating complex ideas.
- Stay abreast of new research methodologies, data sources, and economic literature to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of thought leadership pieces and public-facing economic content.
- Assist in the preparation of briefing materials for executive committees and external engagements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in economic research, data analysis, or a similar analytical role.
- Proven proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS) for data manipulation and econometric modeling.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
- Solid understanding of macroeconomic theory, microeconomics, and econometrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for advanced data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
