Job Description

NLNG is seeking a dedicated and proactive HR Officer to join our dynamic Human Resources team in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to maintaining and enhancing our robust HR framework, ensuring that NLNG continues to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the full cycle of recruitment and selection processes, including drafting job descriptions, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and facilitating onboarding for new hires.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring strict adherence to company guidelines and relevant Nigerian labor laws.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing accurate and timely information on HR matters such as benefits, leave policies, and company procedures.
  • Support the performance management cycle, assisting with goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Coordinate and support employee training and development initiatives, including logistics, attendance tracking, and feedback collection.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics as required, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or similar HR role, preferably within a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification from a recognized HR body (e.g., CIPM, HRCI, SHRM).
  • Experience working in the Oil & Gas industry or a similar multinational corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with talent acquisition software and applicant tracking systems.
