Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of wedding and party planning, from initial client consultation to post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget, providing creative suggestions and solutions.
- Develop detailed event proposals, timelines, budgets, and layouts for each event.
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors, including caterers, venues, florists, photographers, entertainers, and transportation providers.
- Oversee all logistical aspects, including setup, décor, technical requirements, and guest management.
- Conduct site inspections and walk-throughs to ensure all details align with client expectations and venue capabilities.
- Coordinate on-site event execution, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to timelines, and prompt resolution of any issues.
- Manage event budgets, process payments, and ensure financial accountability.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the planning process.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new venues, and innovative event concepts.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in event planning and coordination, specifically with weddings and social parties.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by events.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics and design.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Certification in Event Planning (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
- Familiarity with local Jamaican vendors and event venues in St. Thomas Parish.
