In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing key fundraising programs and initiatives that support YMCA Calgary’s mission and vital community services. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and evaluate comprehensive fundraising strategies for assigned programs and campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations, cultivating relationships and stewarding contributions effectively.
- Identify prospective donors and funding opportunities, conducting research and outreach to expand the donor base.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor communications (reports, thank you letters) that articulate the impact of contributions.
- Coordinate and support fundraising events and initiatives, from conception to post-event follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and activity in the CRM database (e.g., Salesforce), ensuring data integrity and effective segmentation.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop engaging fundraising materials and campaigns.
- Monitor fundraising program budgets, tracking revenue and expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
- Analyze fundraising performance data, preparing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
- Stay informed about current fundraising trends, best practices, and legislative changes impacting philanthropy.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit setting.
- Proven track record of successful donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) for donor management.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, or a related discipline.
- CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation or working towards it.
- Experience with grant writing and reporting to foundations.
- Knowledge of the Calgary philanthropic landscape and community.
- Experience coordinating fundraising events.
