Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Process Engineer with NLNG, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our liquefied natural gas (LNG) production processes, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. This challenging yet rewarding position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving process performance, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and reduce operational costs. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of LNG plant processes, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and optimize process control strategies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and energy consumption.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate new designs, modifications, and troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Lead and participate in process hazard analysis (PHA), HazOp, and safety reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and mitigate risks.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to operations and maintenance teams for daily plant operations and long-term planning.
  • Initiate and manage small to medium-scale process improvement projects from conceptual design to commissioning.
  • Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to LNG processing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering talent within the organization.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Process Engineer in the oil & gas, LNG, or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
  • Experience with process control systems and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering registration (COREN or equivalent).
  • Experience with P&ID development and process equipment sizing.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
  • Project management experience.
