Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails, signature drinks, beers, wines, and spirits, adhering to Tracks & Records recipes and quality standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, providing recommendations, upselling specials, and ensuring a positive and memorable bar experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, meticulously adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of all ingredients and equipment.
- Accurately process guest orders and payments using our Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring all transactions are handled efficiently and correctly.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies, conducting regular stock counts and assisting with ordering to prevent shortages.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national regulations regarding alcohol service, including diligent age verification for all patrons.
- Handle cash and card transactions with utmost accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate seamlessly with kitchen staff, servers, and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
- Assist with comprehensive opening and closing procedures for the bar, including thorough cleaning, sanitization, and restocking of all stations.
- Actively contribute to a vibrant, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere, consistently embodying the spirit and high-energy brand of Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven, hands-on experience as a Bartender in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or dynamic hospitality setting.
- Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and a comprehensive repertoire of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes.
- Demonstrated ability to craft a wide variety of cocktails with exceptional speed, precision, and consistency, even during peak hours.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, coupled with a friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality that enhances guest interactions.
- Ability to work efficiently, calmly, and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, capable of handling multiple tasks and orders simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and superior time management abilities to keep the bar running smoothly.
- Proficiency in using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for order entry and transaction processing.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs (11 kg) comfortably.
- Legal eligibility and relevant certifications to serve alcohol in Jamaica.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a reputable bartending school or an equivalent professional training program.
- Proven experience with inventory management, stock rotation, and effective liquor cost control strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican rum varieties and local beverage specialities.
- A creative flair for developing and introducing new and innovative cocktail recipes.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Spanish) to better serve our diverse clientele is a distinct advantage.
