Justrite Superstore is seeking a motivated Junior Warehouse Officer specializing in Goods Receiving for our Isheri, Lagos operations. Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes with utmost accuracy.
- Conduct thorough inspections of received products for damage, discrepancies, and quality issues, reporting any irregularities immediately to the supervisor.
- Assist in the accurate offloading and proper handling of goods from delivery vehicles, following safety protocols.
- Organize and tag received items, ensuring they are correctly sorted, categorized, and prepared for storage or onward movement within the facility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area, strictly adhering to all company safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and efficiently after appropriate training and certification.
- Collaborate effectively with the inventory team to reconcile stock and resolve any receiving discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Assist in periodic inventory counts and stock audits as required, contributing to accurate stock records.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to product handling, storage, and safety regulations.
- Provide diligent support to other warehouse operations and team members as needed, fostering a collaborative environment.
Required Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations accurately).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently when required.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) regularly throughout the workday.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE/GCE certificate.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, retail, logistics, or similar physically demanding role (even informal or part-time experience is a plus).
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles and stock control.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and best practices in a warehouse setting.
- Proximity to Isheri, Lagos, for ease of commute.
