Job Description
JMK Accountants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in Stranmillis, Belfast. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation and identifying potential tax planning opportunities.
- Provide corporate finance advisory services, including financial modelling, valuations, due diligence, and support for mergers and acquisitions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on financial and strategic matters.
- Analyze financial statements, reports, and other data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for clients.
- Oversee junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices to ensure continuous professional development and client advice is current.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
- Contribute to the firm's business development initiatives and expansion strategies.
Required Skills
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in an accounting firm or a corporate finance role.
- Proven experience in corporate finance advisory, audit, and corporate tax.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/UK GAAP) and auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
