Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter with expertise in both construction and interior design to join our dynamic team in Lubao, Kasai Province. This role is crucial for ensuring the aesthetic appeal, durability, and protective finish of our diverse construction projects, ranging from residential and commercial buildings to public infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of various painting techniques and materials, and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare various surfaces (walls, ceilings, wood, metal, plaster) by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling holes and cracks.
  • Mix paints, stains, and other coating materials to achieve desired colors, textures, and consistencies.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and a high-quality finish.
  • Perform decorative painting, stenciling, and special finishes for interior design projects as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine project specifications and materials needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality, identify imperfections, and make necessary touch-ups.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment safely.
  • Manage and properly store painting materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, plasterers, and project managers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a painter in construction or a similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to mix and match colors accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a steady hand.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and precautions in a construction environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of surface preparation and repair.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or certification in painting or a related trade.
  • Experience with various types of decorative finishes and interior design painting.
  • Knowledge of different paint types (e.g., latex, oil-based, epoxy) and their appropriate applications.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and aesthetic preferences.
