Your daily responsibilities will span a wide range of activities, from assisting with daily living tasks to engaging in meaningful companionship and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, conversations, and outings.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are observed.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist clients in managing their medication schedules.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying living areas, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the care coordinator or family.
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and client observations.
  • Ensure client safety and comfort at all times.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and adapt to changing client needs.
  • Basic understanding of first aid and emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA), Nursing Assistant (CNA), or similar healthcare qualification.
  • Previous experience caring for the elderly or individuals with chronic health conditions (e.g., dementia, stroke recovery).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in local languages such as Igbo or Ikwerre in addition to English.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with grace and professionalism.
