Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive audio editing, including trimming, splicing, and sequencing raw audio files.
- Conduct detailed sound adjustment, mixing, and mastering for broadcast quality, ensuring optimal levels and clarity.
- Apply advanced techniques for noise reduction, equalization, compression, and other audio effects to enhance sound.
- Design and integrate sound effects, music, and voiceovers to create engaging audio content.
- Collaborate closely with producers, presenters, and marketing teams to understand project requirements and deliver on creative vision.
- Manage and organize audio assets, ensuring proper cataloging and archiving of all production files.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of audio output.
- Provide quality control for all audio content before broadcast or publication.
- Stay updated with the latest audio software, hardware, and industry trends to continuously improve production techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, acoustics, and signal processing.
- Expertise in sound design, mixing, and mastering techniques.
- Excellent ear for detail and critical listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with creative and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Broadcast Media, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in audio post-production, preferably within a broadcasting or media environment.
- Experience with audio restoration and forensic audio techniques.
- Familiarity with broadcast standards and loudness specifications (e.g., ITU-R BS.1770).
- Knowledge of local Nigerian music genres and cultural soundscapes is a plus.
- Portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous audio editing and mixing work.
