Job Description
As a pivotal member of our dynamic Admissions team, the Admissions Officer for Application Processing plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Cardiff University. This isn’t just a processing role; it’s about being the initial point of contact for thousands of prospective students, guiding them through a critical stage of their academic journey. You will be at the heart of our admissions cycle, responsible for meticulously managing and processing a high volume of undergraduate and postgraduate applications, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with university policies and external regulations.
Your day will involve a detailed review of application forms, academic transcripts, personal statements, and references, verifying their completeness and authenticity. You’ll be skilled in identifying discrepancies and proactively resolving issues, often by liauating directly with applicants, academic departments, and external bodies. This requires not only a keen eye for detail but also exceptional communication skills to convey complex information clearly and empathetically, often dealing with sensitive applicant inquiries. You will manage data entry into our sophisticated student information systems, maintaining robust and confidential records that are vital for decision-making, reporting, and audit purposes. Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of undergraduate and postgraduate applications accurately and efficiently.
- Verify the completeness and authenticity of application documents, including transcripts and references.
- Communicate effectively with applicants, academic departments, and external agencies regarding application status and requirements.
- Maintain precise and confidential records within the university's student information systems.
- Assist in the administration of admissions decisions and dispatch of related communications.
- Interpret and apply university entry requirements for a wide range of domestic and international qualifications.
- Resolve application-related queries and issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions processes and procedures.

- Provide administrative support to the wider Admissions team as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an administrative or data processing role, preferably within an educational setting.
