Job Description
Are you an innovative and passionate educator with a flair for curriculum design and development? Whitchurch High School is seeking a dedicated Education Coordinator – Curriculum Development to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is central to our continuous commitment to enhancing the learning experience for all students across our broad and balanced curriculum. As the Education Coordinator, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of education within our school, working collaboratively with departmental leads, teaching staff, and senior leadership to review, refine, and implement progressive curriculum frameworks. You will be responsible for ensuring our curriculum remains relevant, engaging, inclusive, and aligned with national educational standards and best practices. This includes identifying opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, integrating new pedagogical approaches, and developing resources that support effective teaching and learning outcomes. You will be instrumental in mapping curriculum progression, identifying key knowledge and skills required at each stage, and ensuring a coherent learning journey for students from Year 7 through to Year 13. Furthermore, the role involves researching and advising on emerging educational trends, technological advancements in learning, and pedagogical research to inform strategic curriculum planning. You will facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff to ensure consistent understanding and high-quality delivery of curriculum changes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing robust assessment strategies that genuinely reflect student understanding and progress within the newly designed or updated curriculum areas. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review, design, and development of curriculum frameworks and learning pathways across key stages.
- Collaborate with departmental heads and teaching staff to integrate new pedagogies and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Research and recommend best practices in curriculum development, educational technology, and assessment strategies.
- Develop and curate high-quality teaching and learning resources that support curriculum objectives.
- Facilitate professional development workshops for staff on curriculum implementation and effective teaching methods.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum initiatives, using data to inform continuous improvement.
- Ensure curriculum compliance with national educational standards and school policies.
- Communicate curriculum changes and developments effectively to all stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and vision for education within the school.
