Save-On-Foods is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Picking Aide to join our bustling distribution centre team in Sapperton, New Westminster. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring our stores receive the products they need to delight our customers. As a Warehouse Picking Aide, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment, operating in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. Your day will involve navigating our extensive warehouse, utilizing various tools and equipment to pick items, verify quantities, and meticulously pack them according to established procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to order specifications and quality standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, in a safe and efficient manner (training provided).
- Verify product quantities and ensure items are free from damage before packaging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting and stocking products as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and verification.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and inventory checks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
- Familiarity with RF scanners or other inventory management systems.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification not required, but a plus).
