As a Production Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of our manufacturing operations, overseeing the daily activities of the production line. Your primary responsibility will be to lead, motivate, and manage a team of skilled operators and technicians, ensuring that production targets are met or exceeded while strictly adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who can troubleshoot operational issues, optimize processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, and driving a culture of accountability and high performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel on the cement manufacturing line, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, occupational health standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery, coordinating with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective actions.
  • Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring that all cement products meet Dangote's stringent quality specifications.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering skill development and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, analyzing data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize operational costs.
  • Handle minor disciplinary actions and resolve conflicts among production staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Logistics, to ensure seamless operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, preferably cement.
  • Strong understanding of cement manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
