Fontana Pharmacy in May Pen is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our bustling and friendly team. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, ensuring correct dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
- Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Conduct regular stock checks, identify discrepancies, and assist with ordering and returning pharmaceutical products to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries, explaining medication instructions, and handling transactions with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain precise patient profiles and medication records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries efficiently and accurately.
- Assist Pharmacists in compounding medications as required, adhering to strict sterile and non-sterile compounding procedures.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with Pharmacists and other team members to enhance workflow efficiency and patient care outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with pharmacy best practices and regulations.
Required Skills
- Certification or Diploma as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in pharmacy dispensing and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, drug dosages, and medication interactions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and general computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Familiarity with Jamaican pharmaceutical regulations and insurance protocols.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
