Job Description

Bolloré Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and operational efficiency of our facilities in Kalemie, Tanganyika Province. In this critical on-site role, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians in ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and aesthetic appeal of all company buildings, grounds, and equipment. This includes managing routine preventative maintenance schedules, coordinating and executing urgent repair needs, and implementing long-term improvement projects aimed at enhancing facility longevity and operational safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements, coupled with a meticulous eye for detail and proven leadership abilities in a demanding operational environment. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive environment for all employees and operations, adhering to both internal company policies and relevant local regulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing operational downtime, extending the lifespan of valuable company assets, and ensuring our infrastructure consistently meets the high standards expected of a global logistics leader. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all building systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, troubleshooting issues and coordinating repairs efficiently.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects, ensuring quality and timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
  • Implement sustainable practices to optimize energy consumption and reduce environmental impact.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, facility conditions, and budget utilization for management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repair.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in facility maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, mechanical, construction).
  • Experience with project management in a facilities setting.
  • Fluency in French and/or Swahili.
  • Experience in a logistics or industrial environment.
